My favourite BB Creams

Now I am a girl who loves buying foundations, I have so many but find sometimes a lighter coverage is a nice change, and is perfect for any season.
I love using a BB cream or a 'Beauty Balm' when I just want my skin to be able to breathe a lot more or if I'm having a good skin day. I love how easy to apply a BB cream is compared to a foundation as foundations can be quite thick and sometimes a little hard to blend especially with no makeup brushes or tools to use!

I thought I would show you my two favourite BB creams so far that I have tried. I have two more BB creams but I feel like these two are my little gems. I will now get on to telling you why!

The Body Shops All in one BB Cream
I love the fact that this is colour a adapting BB cream, although only to some extent as you have to pick out of 3/4 shades anyway! But it comes out like a white liquid consistency, it's easy to blend and looks light on my skin, like I'm wearing nothing at all, but I love how this is and it looks so luminous and really adds a glow to my skin. It is very light coverage, to me anyway and I feel like you may need to use a concealer if you want extra coverage, this is usually my preference and it looks lovely and is a nice change if you want something light and easy to apply. Mine is in the colour '01'

Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream for oily skin
I think this one is the thicker of the two BB creams, it feels like it to me, if I want a bit more coverage than the body shop one or one that suits my skin with a tan better it would be this one haha! although it won't be the right shade for me this autumn/winter so I think I will be using the Body shop one a lot more! But This one gives a bit more coverage over spots or other imperfections, so if you want a better coverage one it would be this one. It covers all of my small blemishes but a concealer may also be someone else's preference with this one too depending on the coverage you'd like. My particular shade here is in 'Medium'
Buy it here at Boots

I love BB creams and I will be using these a lot throughout all seasons of the year! I recommend them to people who may only need a little bit of coverage on their skin, or if you're just starting out with makeup and want to try a foundation but may not want something as thick and heavy.

What is your favourite BB cream?!

Topshop Lipstick Dupes With BornPrettyStore

So recently, I've been loving my Topshop lipstick on the left (the purple colour) as the weather is getting my autumn/wintery I'm loving the vampy lip colours, and I love this one which is in the colour 'The Damned' it is a lovely dark purple colour in the bullet and can be built up to that colour, I am loving the Topshop makeup at the moment, I also have a blush from them which is really nice too although it's more of a Summery shade I won't wear it much now, I'm all about the bronzer in Winter! haha now back to the lipsticks!

So BornPrettyStore recently contacted me asking if I wanted to try a couple of things from their website, and I chose the lipstick on the right hand side and the lip crayon which is in the mint green packaging. Now I thought the packaging looked a lot like the Topshop lipsticks and I thought the 'TheHotShop' and 'LipHop' Sounded a lot like they were very similar to 'Topshop' so they might be dupes of the Topshop one and so I decided to give them a go. I chose both of the colours from the website and I will link the exact products I have received below and they look exactly the same as the ones I chose I will have swatches of them all together so I can show you the similarities, and the pigmentation of the lipsticks are like the same they look like they are just the same in different colours.

So the colour of the lipstick I received is the colour 'Not with a Cup of Lipstick'* which I love the name and it's also the number '03' and I have the link here if anyone is interested, now the colour as you can see by the photo it is a gorgeous bright pinky colour, now this colour I wanted to get as it's a bit out of my comfort zone and I haven't got a colour lipstick like this one! So far I love it and the pigmentation is great.

The next one is the colour '12'* in the mint green packaging but sadly it doesn't have another name, unlike the other lipstick but I love this packaging so much and this one looks so alike to the ones I see in Topshop but they are in a white packaging I think and the writing is almost identical to my purple Topshop lipstick in the photo above. I was so drawn to this colour because it looks quite toned down but a lovely light berry pink shade for the autumnal months ahead. I knew I wanted a colour like this, for the upcoming colder months so when I saw this one on the website I was very happy, it looks so gorgeous on the lips! And has to to be my favourite of the two! You can find it here

If you'd like to try any products from BornPrettyStore I have a discount you may like to use, it is JVBH10 if you use it you'll receive 10% off your order, but you can also shop the code by clicking on the code in the discount's section of the right side of my blog.

So here are the lipsticks all together but the BornPrettyStore ones are the two on the right hand side, so the left lipstick as I mentioned earlier is the Topshop on in 'The Damned' and wasn't purchased from BornPrettyStore.  As you can see the pigmentation of all of them is amazing and they look like there from the same exact brand.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about these Topshop dupes and Thank you to BornPrettyStore for letting me try these lipsticks I am very grateful for them and hope this has helped someone who want's a cheaper alternative to Topshop lipsticks! And although I was sent these lipsticks all opinions are my own!

Rediscovering Old Products - My Golden Oldies

So as you've seen by the title these are my three golden oldies, I had recently discovered them again after not using them in around a year and I'm loving them! I thought I would share them with you all and hope that it might help others who haven't tried these and wanted to give any of them a go themselves! So Enjoy!

So The Sleek Rose Gold Blush has been a favourite of mine over the past few years, but recently after trying a lot of new products it had taken a back seat in my makeup drawers and had been forgotten about, but after trying it again I'm so happy with the colour and how flattering it is and don't know why I stopped using it! The packaging is also very 'sleek' see what I did there haha, how embarrassing I know but I am a sucker for packaging and it reminds me a bit of the Nars packaging and it looks really nice and is easy to travel with! At only £4.49 it's a blush that I will definitely repurchase but not for a while as a little goes a long way and I haven't even hit the pan yet!

My Next favourite is a foundation, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which is perfect for creating that dewy but natural glow, but it doesn't leave me looking too shiny or oily, it's a gorgeous summer foundation as it is light, but I will also be loving it this winter as I find it's so moisturising and I could do with a bit of a glow when my skin is feeling a bit dry and in the winter this one is definitely on the cards for me! It is £10.99 which I feel is quite a lot for foundation but this one is perfect for when bourjois products are on offer as I think I got two products for £10 once so if this foundation is included I would totally have to stock up! It is a beautiful foundation, I would also love to try the normal foundation from this range to see how it compares and may do a review then if you'd all like to see one too!

The Last product I've rediscovered is the Maybelline Baby Skin instant pore eraser, and this is a primer which really does help make my makeup last longer and makes my face look overall a lot nicer and applies makeup a lot smoother so I think it does really approve the appearance of my pores! Which is a bonus as well as making my makeup look a lot nicer. I love the way it makes my foundation sit and even though it is around £7 in a three for two deal at boots (which is quite often, But I don't complain haha!) is even better value as you could stock up on your favourite drugstore products as well as trying this one if you'd like!

Hair Products I'm Using! + Mini Reviews

Here are the hair products I'm using at the moment! I hate buying hair products mainly because my hair always seems to look the same as before or the product doesn't do what it says! But I am using these three products at the moment, a dry shampoo, a hair mask and a hairspray and let me just tell you why I love them! I will be going through each product and reviewing it, but like a little insight to it so just a little bit about each of them and why I love them so far!

The Dove Dry Shampoo: I love as it instantly adds a little bit of volume to my hair which is what I need most of the time my hair can look a little flat and lifeless! It also is a great dry shampoo, if ever I want to miss a day of washing my hair if I spray a small amount into the roots of my hair to make it look a lot nicer and it really does make me feel better, the smell is lovely almost like I've freshly washed my hair which is nice when it feels well, not so nice! It also doesn't leave a white cast in my hair which is great because I don't like using the ones that come out white unless I would leave a white patch in my hair! ... that wouldn't be a great look for me! I would give it an 8.5/10.

*The Nanokeratin RePlenish colour preserving mask: I have been trialing for the past few days now since I've never tried a hair mask, well at least I don't think I have, I can't really compare it to others I've used as I haven't! I have tried out the colour preserving mask and my hair felt really nice after I had used it, a lot more silkier than usual, but what I love from a treatment mask, as I love the feeling of nourished and healthy hair. I feel it kept my hair colour looking fresh and the colours in my hair looked nicely blended together, sometimes the colour looks quite bold! As I'd recently had a few colours put through my hair I feel like it really helped to repair the parts of my hair where the colour may have damaged or stripped my hair of the natural oils (I think anyway!) Anyway I really like it and I would love to purchase the full size. If I had to rate it I would give it a 8/10! Really good product!

You can buy it here at www.nanokeratinsystem.com
The Mask I used: Colour Preserving Mask

Lastly my Tresemme Extra Hold Hairspray: It has been a current obsession or addiction of mine, I used to use cheaper types of hairspray but as my mum is a hairdresser, she swears by the Tresemme hairsprays and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and I've been missing out, it holds my hair in place so well, not like any other hairspray I've used, I can see myself only using this hairspray from now on as a little bit really does keep my hair staying put and I strongly believe it sticks to it's 'Extra Hold' claims because my hair looks exactly the same at the end of the day as it does when I first apply the hairspray! LOVE IT! I would definitely have to give this hairspray a 9.5/10 but I don't think I will find a better hairspray than this one!

Drugstore Products I loved through Summer 2015

I thought today would be a perfect day to make a blog post all about the products I have been loving throughout Summer which is well and truly over well for having nice weather and wearing summery clothes it is! for me anyway! For the past few days I have been cold everyday! And it keeps raining at the most annoying times! ugh one step closer to winter I suppose!

So I've been loving a primer, foundation, concealer, a contour kit and a mascara, all of which are drugstore so are easy to get hold of for a great, affordable price too. But just because I have been using them a lot this Summer doesn't mean I wont carry on using them, because I certainly will!

So the primer I have been using has been the Body Shop's Instablur which I think really does make my makeup last all the bit longer that I need it too, which has been perfect this Summer as with having combination skin, I have needed this in my oily parts where makeup seems to slip off haha! It has been a godsend to me and I wish I tried it sooner.
Body Shop's Instablur Primer - £14

The foundation and concealer I have been loving are both from Rimmel London, one of my favourite drugstore brands!

The foundation is the Match perfection foundation and I love this one for a good medium coverage I would say with the amount I use anyway it gives me a medium coverage, I love the consistency too which is a weird thing to say but some foundations are too watery but this one is a good in between and offers good coverage for small imperfections and blemishes if you are looking for a foundation like that I would try this one!
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - £7.99

I am loving the wake me up concealer for just concealing dark circles under my eyes, but it doesn't work well on spots for be as it is a brightening concealer and has little shimmers in, and I definitely don't want my blemishes sticking out more!
Rimmel wake me up concealer - £5.49

The Maybelline Lash sensational has been my lash favourite and it makes me lashes appear so much more lengthened and volumised, I tried this after I used a small sample of the Benefit Roller Lash and it's supposed to be a dupe but I think this one is SO much better! It is amazing and it does beat most high end mascara's I have tried and It just makes your eyelashes so much bigger, and I have such short lashes I find it hard to find a mascara which will lengthen and add volume to thicken my lashes, but this one has it all!
Maybelline Lash sensational Mascara - £7.99

Last but not least is the Seventeen contour kit, which I recently featured in my Seventeen Makeup Haul go give that a read if you'd like to see what else I got and also see the inside of the kit! But it is a lovely little contour kit which just has a contour and highlight shade, and I must admit i have only been using it for maybe two weeks or less but I love both the highlight shade and the contour shade, as it can be built up to your desired contour look, it doesn't look too orangey or too brown toned, it just looks lovely, the only thing I would say is that I have the shade medium and I do have to build it up a few times, but for the price I love it and I really enjoy using it.
Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit - £5.99

My Current Lip Obsessions

These 4 beauties are the lipsticks I am currently obsessed with and if I wear to wear a lipstick tomorrow it would 100% be one of these! I am loving a mixture of different colours lately and as you can see these are all very different to each other.

The colours above are L-R: L'Oreal Eva's Nude Lipstick, Makeup Revolution Lip Lava In Tremor, Maybelline Colour Sensational in Tantalizing Taupe, Ted Baker Lipstick in Red(has no name)
So the colours I have chosen here are a mix of nudes/pinks and reds, this being nudes/pinks are my favourite to wear and I find you can wear them with anything and they won't clash. On the other hand Red lipstick is not usually something I go for and is a little out of my comfort zone but I love this Ted Baker one!

Makeup Haul | Seventeen Cosmetics

So I'm Back with a makeup haul! Who doesn't love them eh?!
So I was lucky enough to win an amazing giveaway and received all these wonderful products and also a seventeen mascara with I actually forgot to put in this picture (I'm super forgetful and have the memory worse than a goldfish I swear!) and I'm so so grateful as everything looks amazing!
So the two products I was most looking forward to are the contour kit and the glow highlighters and I have swatched them both and I'm thinking they could be my new favourites.
So the products  I got were:

Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour kit - This contour kit is a contour/bronzing shade and a highlighter duo, so is perfect for on the go and creating the look of cheekbones (which I don't have) So I love it because it defines your cheeks and I do find it actually slims my face down which I originally thought was a myth so I am happy about that! Buy here - Boots.com
Skin Wow 3 Way highlighter - I am so excited about this product as I'm loving highlighter recently, I find that and contouring really works magic on my face and I love doing this step in my makeup routine, I can't wait to try it! Buy here - Boots.com
Skin Wow Tan Liquid Glow - This looks quite scary, but when I swatched it, the highlight blended so easily and a little goes a long way so don't use to much or you'll look like a disco ball! Nonetheless I'm excited to try it out! Buy here - Boots.com
Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liquid Eyeliner - I am just getting my confidence with doing eyeliner and the nib on this one looks really think and dare I say it quite easy to do. I can't wait to try and will keep you all updated with it. Buy here - Boots.com
Lip Crayon in Knockout - Now this is such a pretty Autumnal lip colour which I think I will really love this autumn/winter as I don't actually have many lipsticks this colour or even that similar too. It looks lovely and applies easily. Buy here - Boots.com
Seventeen Cheek Stamp - This product is the least easy to apply it comes out very powdery, but is such a lovely coral colour, I will keep giving it a go as I love the concept of it being a stamp so will keep you updated here on my blog. Buy here - Boots.com
Brows that Brow Kit - I think this looks like such a handy little kit, you can see what this looks like inside in the below picture, I'm not such if it will be too dark for me but we will just have to see, I like the fact it includes a pencil as Some people will like to use a pencil before filling in their brows, I also love the packaging! So sleek and pretty! Buy Here - Boots.com
Seventeen Falsifeye HD Mascara - I feel so silly for missing this one out of the picture but I suppose this happens when you quickly want to take some blog photos because of quick lighting changes! But anyway I had to try this mascara straight away because of it's claims and oh my I love it! It creates the look of more full lashes which makes them look more false but they don't look too spidery or in your face, I just LOVE this one! Buy here - Boots.com

I hope you all enjoyed seeing my new Seventeen products, Can't wait to try them!

My Current Skincare and Bodycare Favourites

These three have been my complete favourites! During the past few months my skin has been getting so dry and I've needed to use more products targeted at dry skin and these are the three I'm so happy with now! So let me tell you a bit more about them!

They are all from the high street and are a mixture of products from Sainsburys/Superdrug and Lush, so all quite affordable and easy to get hold of it you want to give any of them a go. Hope you enjoy seeing my Current Skin/Body care Favourites.

Zoella Scrubbing me Softly body scrub - £7.00
This scrub is gentle on the skin and smells so lovely This is my body favourite of the three products I use this on my arms, legs, elbows and knees and it leaves them feeling soft and supple it gets red of the dead skin(I know lovely) that we all will get over time and leaves your skin feeling nourished locks in some moisture which is good as I don't feel I need to moisturise straight after which is good because lets be honest moisturising your body can be a bit of a chore!

Makeup Of The Day #1

Makeup is something I love to change up on a regular basis, I like to use a mixture of products and try not to stick to the same things all the time. So today I thought I would try some products in my collection that have been pushed to the back of the drawers for a few months. So without further ado these are all the products I used in today's MOTD-(makeup of the day!)

BASE:
Benefit Porefessional primer - This primer is just amazing, I've tried so many cheaper alternatives that claim to be as good as this but they don't seem to compare in my opinion, this one makes makeup apply so much smoother on the dry parts of my skin, which sometimes look worse when makeup is put on them but not this! I have loved it for ages and it's still going strong!
