Bourjois Health Mix Serum Or Bourjois Health Mix Foundation?! -Which is Better?

So today I wanted to do a comparison post on the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and the Healthy Mix Foundation as I am always getting asked which one do I prefer? Which one is better? etc.
So I thought what better way to awnser the questions surrounding these two Bourjois products, I'd do a comparison on the two!

Where to Buy:
UK - Bourjois healthy mix Serum - www.boots.com
Bourjois healthy mix Foundation - www.boots.com
Anywhere else: Bourjois healthy mix Serum - www.feelunique.com
Bourgeois healthy mix Foundation - www.feelunique.com
Cost:
So lets start off with the prices, the one on the left which is the Healthy Mix Serum is the most expensive by £1 on the other one - it is £10.99 whereas the one of the right which is the Healthy Mix Foundation retails for £9.99. The only obvious differences on the outside are the packaging, the Serum has a lot more writing on the front and also has a red lid, but the foundation has a red pump and a clear lid, which is probably to help differentiate between the two when buying whichever one you want in your local Boots or Superdrug! It also has a lot less writing and they both clear state 'Healthy Mix Serum' and 'Healthy Mix Foundation' I really love the packaging on both though!

Longevity of the product:
With these two products both tend to last quite well throughout the day considering they are both a dewy but not over the top finish, they both don't slide around my face and last a reasonable amount of time before I need to reapply, this is only usually to cover spots or blemishes which have reappeared on my face. They both last the same amount of time in terms of use, probably from everyday wear they last around a month for me which I think is good but to be honest this depends how good my skin is how much I will need to use etc.

Coverage:
The coverage of them both is the main difference between them. The Healthy Mix Serum is the one with a light coverage it doesn't cover too many blemishes but little imperfections it does cover, they are both good foundations for covering redness as the colours are quite yellowy toned I think, and yellow helps to counteract redness which I have a lot of so I love them! The Healthy Mix Foundation is the one with a medium coverage but it can be built up as the foundations do not in the slightest look cakey, which is my favourite thing about them both as dry patches and blemishes can make most of my foundations look cakey and not look as flawless as I want but these are both amazing.

Other Questions I have been asked:

Are they both the same amount of product?
Yes! Believe it or not they are! The Healthy Mix Foundation bottle is a lot heavier and it the bottle actually looks a lot wider, but they are actually the same which I was quite shocked about as they don't look the same but they are both are!

Which one lasts the longest?
I would say they both last quite well and very similarly but as the Serum is a lighter coverage, obviously that will come off quicker than the extra coverage one as the Foundation is more of a medium, build-able coverage.

Which one do you prefer?
I actually prefer the Healthy Mix Foundation the most as it offers that little bit more extra coverage which for me is important as I usually have quite a few blemishes and under eye bags to cover up so I like the Healthy Mix Foundation more for giving me that extra confidence boost knowing that everything is covered on my face that I want to be covered!

Overall thoughts:
If you're looking to buy one of them, I would recommend the Healthy Mix Serum for if you want a lighter natural coverage, this one would be great for you. The Healthy Mix Foundation I would recommend if you want to cover a few more blemishes or imperfections, it is a bit thicker than the other one but they both do not look cakey in the slightest which is the best part about them! The cost of my favourite one is actually the cheapest one so that's a bonus for me but £1 difference really isn't a lot! But to be hones they are super similar the only difference I find when applying them is the serum feels a lot lighter and less thicker than the Healthy Mix Foundation. But if you want to try any of these base it on the coverage you want as they are both practically the same apart from one being a light coverage and one being more of a medium coverage.

Hope this was helpful!
Have you tried any Bourjois Foundations?

My Christmas Makeup Of The Day - Everything Drugstore

Currently it is only 3 more sleeps until christmas day! and I am actually super excited! So I thought I would do a post on the makeup I plan on wear on Christmas day and this is it, carry on if you want to see everything I used! I used only drugstore products as I'm really loving so much from Boots and Superdrug at the moment! (UK Drugstore Beauty shops)

So I first used my new favourite foundation the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, which I featured in a Drugstore Makeup haul here which gives such a flawless base and gives a light to medium coverage. I use the shade 52 which is the second lightest shade.

I then used the Soap and Glory kick ass concealer, just to cover up my dark circles with the peachier shade in the duo and then the more yellow shade to cover any pesky blemishes! It's a really good concealer duo as both shades will be good for most skin tones, to correct and conceal.

I didn't use any bronzer as I think I don't need too much with the bold lip and dramatic eyes but you could use some on your skin! I used a No7 highlighting stick to make me skin glow and look really fresh, which I think is perfect for christmas day as I can go all out with the shimmery eye shadows and glowing skin!

I will then use the gorgeous Tanya Burr Hollywood palette which you can see below, I am just going to use the first light shade called 'Nude Delight' and Then the shade 'Enchantment' which is the most pretty gold shade, but it stays on the eyes so well with minimal fallout. If there is any I will just clear this up again with my soap and glory concealer.

This part is also optional but I then used a tiny bit of 'Bookworm' just to deepen up my crease and to just pull the eye look together.

I then will apply generous amounts of the Maybelline Lash Sensational after I have curled my lashes lots of times to create the look of some long and curly eyelashes.

I then have two options for lip colours but if you want a pink or a lighter red shade instead of any of these I have a Christmas lip ideas post coming on Christmas Eve, so watch out for that my loves!

So the first shade which I may use is an affordable drugstore lipstick is Rimmel Kate Moss in 107. It is a gorgeous dark berry colour which suits so many skin tones and is perfect for the colder season.

The second is the Tanya Burr lip gloss, mine is from her limited edition Gingerbread trio which had this lip gloss and Glittery Nail Polish and a nail file, this particular lip gloss is called 'Sugar and Spice' it has a little bit of colour to it, but nothing to out there so I may use a combination of both on Christmas Day.

I hope you enjoyed reading and watch out for my christmas lip ideas post coming on Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Drugstore Haul & First Impressions - December

So If today you want to know what I'm haulin' from the beauty counters at boots this is it! I was super happy to get everything as these are all products I've heard so much about and I am rather happy now I have them all (not that I needed any more makeup) but it was necessary I wanted to try some new things out and it's especially even more justifiable as I repurchased a few items too!

So first I picked up my trusty Lash sensational as I just can't imagine life without it!  sad I know, but it's the real honest truth! it just adds so much length to my lashes and the length is definitely what I lack when it comes to my lashes, so this just adds life back into them and without it I feel like I have no lashes and with it, and well you get the jist it is amazing! and I don't think many mascara's will ever compare to this for me so sorry if you're sick of hearing about it but you'll know why if you've tried it!

The second thing is a beauty I must say, I am literally a highlighter addict at the moment I cannot stop highlighting my face it just gives me so much more life and I definitely love a glow along with my contour. It is a lovely stick form so is so easy to apply and blends so nicely, it's nice and buttery so the formula is easy to just apply and blend out with your fingers or a brush. I have been using it for a week or so now and love the way it looks and for extra glow I love setting it with a powder highlighter, I'm loving the sleek highlighter on top of this to create a gorgeous glow! (from the sleek contour kit)

I have wanted this little product for so so long and when Boots were advertising Nyx coming to Boots online I jumped at the chance as I was so excited to try a infamous matte lip cream from them. The colour of this one is 'Copenhagen' which is a lovely dark reddy purple, it is more purple than red but looks like a berry toned shade, which is perfect for the Christmass-y season! I have used it twice and it lasts so well but when I applied a lip balm before it stayed on without drying my lips too, so a beautiful lip product all in all!

So every girl needs a good coverage drugstore foundation right?! Well this one from Bourjois is definitely gonna be repurchased again and again! I had previously owned the serum version which was lovely but a friend told me to try this one if I wanted more coverage so that's just what I did. I was NOT disappointed I don't know how I managed without it! and have worn it every day since purchasing it so that says something. It lasts really well on my skin and doesn't cake up which most foundations do with me and I don't know how the finish just looks so flawless and natural without being too heavy too!

The next two are Soap and Glory makeup items and surprisingly I haven't tried any makeup from them before these. I purchased the Brow Archery in 'Love is Blonde' and I love the tint side of the pen it just looks perfect as sometimes I like a lovely natural brow nothing too heavy and I can use both sides, the tint and crayon end, and it'll still make them look super even! I'm so super impressed with it!

Lastly I needed a concealer and I wanted good coverage for some under eye bags as sleep is something I'm not getting much of lately and I wanted to reduce the appearance of bags and cover them, I wanted to try another Soap and Glory makeup product so that's why I chose the Kick Ass Concealer, it has a yellow toned concealer on one side and a more orange toned one on the other. They blend like a dream and I love having two different colours to correct my under eyes and it's handy to have two different shades!

Makeup Of The Day #3 - Drugstore Only

Today I'm sharing with you my makeup which I have been doing a lot lately, it's light and barely looks like I'm wearing any foundation or concealer which I love! It's perfect for those days when you're running errands and just want a little bit of makeup to make you feel good in yourself! I will link all products near the end of the post if you want to know shade names etc.

I am one of those people who doesn't have the best skin so whenever I go out I want to wear at least foundation or concealer, it'd be nice if I didn't have too all the time but I like covering up my blemishes as it makes me feel a lot more confident about myself, this is no way saying you should always go out with makeup though if someone wants or doesn't want to wear makeup they shouldn't have to it's completely down to personal preference!

For my base I decided on the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum as it's a light coverage but does quite well in covering small blemishes and a bit of my redness. It is a lovely light but I would say can be built up a lot if that's what you desire in a foundation, although for more coverage the health mix foundation also by Bourjois is supposed to be very good too.

To cover any redness which is still visible I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, I usually use this under the eyes too, but rarely use it to cover blemishes as it makes them stand out more as the concealer has a brightening affect.

Then as blush I used The middle shade in my sleek blush palette in Sugar which is on the right, it's a really gorgeous shade for autumn and winter seasons so I have been using this palette a lot recently! The other shades are also gorgeous too!

I then used the makeup revolution palette on the right and just dusted the bronzer shade along where I would contour so just in the hollows of my cheeks and then blending out with a makeup brush. I then lightly dusted the highlighting shade in this palette just above where I put my bronzer.
I then applied lots of the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara which is super good for such a small price, it adds quite a lot of length which is what I definitely need and doesn't clump up my lashes! So I applied this until I was happy with the look of my lashes and then that was my Drugstore Makeup Of The Day done!

Everything I used:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum - here
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - here
Sleek Palette in Sugar - here
Makeup revolution palette - here
Maybelline Great Lash - here

Hope you enjoyed reading! My last makeup of the day is here if you're interested in seeing that too!

Rediscovering Old Products - My Golden Oldies

So as you've seen by the title these are my three golden oldies, I had recently discovered them again after not using them in around a year and I'm loving them! I thought I would share them with you all and hope that it might help others who haven't tried these and wanted to give any of them a go themselves! So Enjoy!

So The Sleek Rose Gold Blush has been a favourite of mine over the past few years, but recently after trying a lot of new products it had taken a back seat in my makeup drawers and had been forgotten about, but after trying it again I'm so happy with the colour and how flattering it is and don't know why I stopped using it! The packaging is also very 'sleek' see what I did there haha, how embarrassing I know but I am a sucker for packaging and it reminds me a bit of the Nars packaging and it looks really nice and is easy to travel with! At only £4.49 it's a blush that I will definitely repurchase but not for a while as a little goes a long way and I haven't even hit the pan yet!

My Next favourite is a foundation, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum which is perfect for creating that dewy but natural glow, but it doesn't leave me looking too shiny or oily, it's a gorgeous summer foundation as it is light, but I will also be loving it this winter as I find it's so moisturising and I could do with a bit of a glow when my skin is feeling a bit dry and in the winter this one is definitely on the cards for me! It is £10.99 which I feel is quite a lot for foundation but this one is perfect for when bourjois products are on offer as I think I got two products for £10 once so if this foundation is included I would totally have to stock up! It is a beautiful foundation, I would also love to try the normal foundation from this range to see how it compares and may do a review then if you'd all like to see one too!

The Last product I've rediscovered is the Maybelline Baby Skin instant pore eraser, and this is a primer which really does help make my makeup last longer and makes my face look overall a lot nicer and applies makeup a lot smoother so I think it does really approve the appearance of my pores! Which is a bonus as well as making my makeup look a lot nicer. I love the way it makes my foundation sit and even though it is around £7 in a three for two deal at boots (which is quite often, But I don't complain haha!) is even better value as you could stock up on your favourite drugstore products as well as trying this one if you'd like!

My Top Drugstore Foundations

Hello Girlies!
Today I thought as it's now summer, that I would show you my favourite drugstore/highstreet foundations, I will start by saying I have picked three foundations from Boots/Superdrug which are all around £10 or under. (also sorry for the awful foundation stains on the true match lid, they literally wouldn't come off the lid!)

Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation:
Probably my favourite foundation out of all of these. It offers a light to medium coverage, if built up it can be quite a good medium coverage but feels so lightweight on the skin, and doesn't look one bit cakey, even if it is set with a powder on top.

The Drugstore Products I've Used up

Carmex lip balm - £2.69
This is by far my favourite lip balm it is so moisturising and when your lips are super dry this is literally a god send! Amazing the whole year round as my lips can be dry in any season, it is perfect as it is small and a perfect hand bag sized product, can't live without it now and don't know how I ever did before I discovered it!

Barry M Lip gloss in Toffee - £4.49
I am a girl who both loves lipstick and lip gloss, as long as I've found the right ones for me. I am a huge fan of the Barry m lip glosses as they are the least sticky ones I have found and there are quite a few lovely colours which I am eyeing up too! This one in the shade Toffee is perfect for me over a nude lip and this I use a lot so I had to purchase another(hence why it doesn't look empty haha)
